To add a password to your server, you will need to do the following:
Method # 1 by contacting us:
1. Open a support ticket
2. Give us the password you want
3. We will then provide you with the salt password and the hash to paste into your configuration file
4. From the control panel of your server go to "Config files" and edit the SpaceEngineers-Dedicated.cfg file.
5. Replace the following lines (or which start in the same way):
<ServerPasswordHash />
<ServerPasswordSalt> YXb6U7voyPo + Xm89jWVinw == </ServerPasswordSalt>
by inserting your hash and salt password; for example:
<ServerPasswordHash> z5dXWHuN6eheu9x + Hf8yEyUG71U = </ServerPasswordHash>
<ServerPasswordSalt> / NEiQKDQVNvBEnp27Izvjw == </ServerPasswordSalt>
Which in this case corresponds to the password 1234
6. Save and restart
Method # 2 do it yourself:
1. Download the dedicated Space Engineers server tool from Steam
2. Open it and click on "Run as administrator" if offered
3. Select local / Console then click on "Continue to server configuration"
4. In the "password" field, enter what you want your password to be, then click save at the bottom
5. Now click on the Edit button next to save, this should open a notepad file
6. Find the 2 lines that start with <ServerPasswordHash> and <ServerPasswordSalt>
7. Copy these 2 lines and paste them into the SpaceEngineers-Dedicated.cfg file on your server to replace the 2 lines that already exist.
8. Save and restart
