To get admin powers you must first install an admin mod (here SourceMod)

Prerequisite: your Steam ID.

The steam ID is your steam unique identifier, to find yours simply connect to any public server (it can be yours) then type in the console:
status

You will see various information about connected players and at the end of the line their steam ID. Note yours.

Go to your Control Panel> Game Mods and install MetaMod (required by SourceMod) then SourceMod.

Then use the file manager or FTP access to edit the file /game_name/addons/sourcemod/configs/admins_simple.ini

Inside that file (at the end) type the admins Steam ID (1 per line) followed by their permissions and level of immunity. For a super admin you will need:
"STEAM_0:1:12345678" "99: z"

If your Steam ID is for example STEAM_0:1:12345678 and if you got a friend you want to add admin too with steam ID STEAM_0:1:87654321

then the contents of your admins_simple.ini shall be as follows:
"STEAM_0:1:12345678" "99: z"
"STEAM_0:1:87654321" "99: z"

 Save the changes and restart your server.

Connect to your server and type "sm_admin" in the console and you should see the admin menu. If this is not the case you may have made error typing your Steam ID, try to start over.
